ABOUT
SWITCH
Switch is a professional guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and music producer.
His musical career extends from his youth in Dublin where he worked as a studio engineer (and got his original moniker 'Switchdoctor') to touring worldwide as lead guitarist for several bands.
His passion for an exceptionally broad range of artists, starting with Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov, then Frank Sinatra, The Carpenters, The Beatles, Steely Dan, Sparks, Pilot, Little Feat, Genesis, Yes, Alan Parsons Project, Supertramp, Al DiMeola, Chick Corea (and that’s just up to age 15) is the driving force behind his command of style and innate instinct for arrangement.
As a tech enthusiast, Switch unites old school regard for musical training with a modernist’s eye for innovation.
DEAGLÁN
As lead singer, songwriter and lyricist of Arracht, Deaglán threads the words and thoughts of Arracht’s songs into music.
Drawn always to the evocative power of words infused with a social conscience, or reflective of diverse social realities, Deaglán’s early influences ranged from Victor Jara, Bob Dylan and the rich canon of Irish folk music, to Tom Waits and Serge Gainsbourg.
Deaglán is a cleantech entrepreneur and lifelong activist and supporter of the causes that many of Arracht’s songs are about. In particular, he supports Amnesty International and Open Arms, and most recently has travelled to Ukraine to donate solar and storage systems to veterans’ hospitals.
In Arracht, Deaglán continues an old songwriting tradition that mobilises art for awareness and progress.
